Korea Quantum Computing Co., Ltd. (KQC), a provider of quantum computing, quantum security, and AI infrastructure services, announced today that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Crypto4A Technologies Inc., a Canadian leader in post-quantum hardware security solutions, to accelerate the commercial deployment of PQC-based security technologies.
This partnership aims to advance the development and commercialization of post-quantum cryptography and expand its adoption in global markets. It is expected to play a key role in strengthening Korea’s security sovereignty and positioning the country as a hub for quantum security technologies in Asia. Based in Ottawa, Canada, Crypto4A specializes in fifth-generation quantum-resistant hardware security modules (HSMs). Its QxHSM™ platform is a next-generation HSM designed with hybrid cryptographic algorithms, including PQC, to protect critical systems against emerging quantum computing threats.
As conventional cryptographic systems such as RSA and ECC face growing risks from advances in quantum computing, global efforts—led by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)—are accelerating the standardization and deployment of PQC. In response, KQC plans to develop a Korean post-quantum cryptography standard (KpqC) based on the QxHSM platform and commercialize Korea’s first PQC-HSM solution. The partnership will initially focus on financial services, public sector systems, and industrial control environments, enabling early deployment of quantum-secure infrastructure in Korea.
Key areas of collaboration include:
-Development of integrated solutions combining international PQC standards with Korea’s KpqC
-Joint pursuit of security certifications, including Korea’s KCMVP and international Common Criteria (CC)
-Establishment of a quantum security hub in Korea and expansion into Asian and global markets
Bruno Couillard, CEO of Crypto4A, stated, “Korea is well positioned to become a leading force in quantum security in Asia. This collaboration goes beyond technology adoption—it marks an important step toward building a comprehensive security ecosystem for the post-quantum era.”
Jay J.H. Kweon, Chairman of KQC, commented, “This partnership is expected to create strong synergies across technology, markets, and support systems. Together with Crypto4A, we aim to establish leadership in PQC-HSM and quantum security solutions not only in Korea, but across Asia, while driving innovation for the quantum computing era.”
